Who am I? A Conversation with God

There are times when I feel worthless and like things will never go right, especially because of the past. Instead of leaning on my own understanding and thoughts, I am deciding to trust God in what He says about me.

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them…. God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.

Gen 1:27, 31

If God created me in his image, I cannot be the P.O.S. that my head tells me I am.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Psalms 139: 13-14

You created me as You would have me. You paid attention to every detail.

And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

Matthew 10:30

Really? You pay that close attention to the details, God? That must mean I am special to you. (What numbers were the hairs left in my hairbrush this morning, God?)

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:10

Thank you God for taking such care with all of the details and preparing meaningful work for me, God. If you prepared it for me, every task must be special. Thank you for loving me that much.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

1 Peter 2:9

Thank you for choosing me God. Thank you for blessing me. Thank you for calling me out of darkness into your light and setting me apart for your purpose.

For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you,

1 Thessalonians 1:4

Thank you for loving me. Thank you for choosing me God.

So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.

Colossians 2:10 (NLT)

Alone, I am one. With Christ, I am complete.

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other.

John 15:16-17

Thank you for choosing me God. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for giving me people to love. Please help me each day to remember who You are and who you say I am.
